Radio Silence Broken

I’d like to thank everyone who came out to see us at Connecticon this weekend. I hope everyone had a great time and made it home safe.

I also hope to eventually get home (safely), but that’ll be a while. The short version: I will get home approximately 16 hours later than originally planned. Believe it or not, this is actually the best case scenario. The alternative has me sitting in airports for 24 hours not including transit times between them.

Oh yeah.

So, while you’re doing anything that’s not rotting in an airport today and tomorrow, I’d like you to take a moment and thank your maker that whatever you’re does not involve rotting in an airport.

The prospects of getting Tuesday’s 8BT page done under these conditions are pretty minimal. But I’ll have something for you to look at Tuesday. Something else. You have been warned!

The newest news

I don’t know what you chumps are doing this weekend, but if it’s not Connecticon then I don’t think we can talk any more. Seriously. Don’t give me that “Oh, but Brian, I’ll lose my job,” crap. Or, even worse, the “Oh, but Brian, I live thousands of miles away!” bullshit.

Those aren’t reasons. They’re excuses. And excuses are for the weak. You don’t want to be weak and ugly, do you? I mean, let’s look at what Nietzsche has to say on the subject:

“Do whatever you will, but first be such as are able to go to the goddamn Connecticon.”

Case closed. See you there.

Oh, and we released a video about Emerson Wild: Monster Hunter.

Emerson Wild: Monster Hunter

As you may have remembered, I’ve talked about Brian and I creating a live action web series called Emerson Wild: Monster Hunter.

Well, Monday I filmed a teaser for the show and here are a few shots. Yep, that’s me in those goggles. The shoot itself was extremely fun and I can’t wait to make the actual show itself. As of right now, we’re planning on having the teaser online by Friday, but we’ll see what happens. Keep an eye on EmersonWild.com. I’m sure we’ll have the teaser on here as well.

The show itself is about Emerson Wild, a monster hunter (who would’ve guessed?) and his adventures. I have personally always loved the humor of films such as Ghostbusters, Men in Black and Hellboy.  Any type of humor that brings us unique characters in a fun, new world always fascinates me.  A subtle, contemporary style where the comedy comes from the characters and the situations they are in.

This sort of inspiration I am bringing to EW:MH. Brian and myself have created a world full of history and colorful characters.  Specifically, the show is targeted at people like me who love monsters, good comedy and Sci-fi; but it also has a kind of humor and appeal that reaches a much broader audience.  My goal is to make EW:MH a show that anyone can watch and enjoy. We’ve got a great crew and an amazing effects guy on our team who really brings the world of monsters to life.

Hopefully, everyone will be able to see exactly what we’re going for when the teaser comes out later this week. If you’re interested in helping us in anyway, feel free to email me or Brian.

Episode 1154 without the epilepsy

Seriously, if you have problems viewing flashing/strobing things, then you’ll want to read this version of today’s comic.

[EDIT: Meanwhile, your e-mails have convinced me to share the unblemished Glorious Llama Panel — beware its vomitrobic effect.]

Anyway!

The newest issue of Atomic Robo and the Shadow From Beyond Time comes out tomorrow. Y’oughta pick it up.

Speaking of tomorrow, I’ll be on The Nerdy Show from 9pm – 11pm EST. You can listen to us play D&D live on the air. Y’know, in case calling it “The Nerdy Show” wasn’t clear enough.

Next weekend you can come and see me and Scott at Connecticon! We’ll have prints, original art, T-shirts, and smiles — and they’re all for you! Except the smiles. Those are for the gin and tonics. You should drop by. We’ll laugh, we’ll cry, we’ll learn.

Printers are dumb

So, I’m not even going to go into the story about the dumb, miss-quoting printer. All I’m going to say is I have to start over because some managers are dicks. As Brian puts it, “Go to a real place instead of Pablo’s House of Copies”.

And here I thought the little chain would be cheaper.

I’ll keep you updated still. I swear you people will get your art prints.

In other news: we film something for the web series tomorrow. I’ll have a screen shot or two to share later. It’s very exciting.
