Prepare to hate me a little (more)

I’ve talked about it on the Twitter but it hasn’t been mentioned here on the site really. Lydia and I are moving out of Orlando. Well, she already has, I’m still here down here putting things in boxes or the trash. Please note, Items Yet Unpacked: your sentimental value plummets precipitously in the face of moving and you should consider this your final warning.

Anyway, the final date to be out of this apartment is fast approaching and there’s still a ton of organizing and cleaning yet to be done. So, in the interests of not incurring the wrath of my landlord, I will instead incur your more numerous but also more diffuse and distant wrath by taking the week “off.”

Nerdy Show, Contests, Oh my.

First up, I don’t think I ever linked to this week’s installment of Nerdy Show. So, here! And don’t forget the Tetris Rap Attack Contest. I’ve already heard some of the entries and, oh my, the competition is heating up.

Continuing to go digital.

Okay, so.

First of all, sorry about the 8-bit button blinking for what is about to be three days straight. There was a minor technical error in the form of me forgetting to turn that off. Dur hur hur. But there really is a new comic there, I promise.

In the continuing saga of Cold Hard Reality vs. Joy, I have seen, with my own bloodshot eyes, Atomic Robo and the Shadow From Beyond Time on multiple shipping lists for Dec 23rd. I am not sure if Atomic Robo and the Fightin’ Scientists of Tesladyne will also be available on that date or if it will be delayed until early January due to the holidays. I can tell you that it is available on your PSP though: booya.

I give up

More delays Atomic Robo Vol 1 and Vol 3 TPBs. And, nope, I don’t know why. It’s kind of frustrating to sit here for fifteen hours a day seven days a week busting my ass to keep the print end of this media empire ahead of schedule only to have all our effort wasted because this is the guy in charge of printing…

…and this guy is in charge of distribution…

We were initially promised a release date of Dec. 9th. Then the printer ran out of paper. To put that into perspective, this would be like if you dropped dead in the middle of the day because you ran out of blood.

Then I thought we were told Dec 16th when actually it was “We’ll do it as soon as we can.” Which, come to think of it, is a huge fuckin’ lie because other comics are coming out and we were ahead of them in the fucked up queue. Now Amazon’s reporting January 6th and that’s the closest thing I have to information about this debacle right now. The part where we won’t even get an apology for a fucking one month delay is pretty hilarious. Must be nice to have a job you get paid not to do. And then go home every day. And have weekends. And holidays. And benefits. And health insurance. I’m not intensely bitter nope no sir, I barely get the chance to get a quote with one sure insurance, not like you!

In other news, Hamthrax is back. Celebrate your brush with swine flu whether it was from genuine infection or getting sick from the vaccine!

Ugh, December Signings = Delayed

Due to a delay at the printer, the release of Atomic Robo Vol 1 and Vol 3 has been pushed back to next week, Dec 16th.

So, I will not be doing a signings this week as previously advertised.

I will be at A Comic Shop in Orlando next Wednesday, Dec 16th, from 11am to 2pm. We will have Robo Vol 1, Vol 2, and Vol 3 and probably comics by other people that are obviously less interesting within the context of this event.

My Austin appearance this weekend has been cancelled. We’re going to try to re-schedule a weekend signing at Dragon’s Lair in January. I’ll post more about that as we figure out the timing. You should go to Dragon’s Lair this weekend anyway because holy shit look at who they’ll have there.

I’m sorry about this guys. It was completely out of our control. The printer, and I quote, “ran out of paper.” I’ll admit I’m not an expert at the undoubtedly complex inner workings of the publishing industry, but making sure there’s a room full of fucking paper would be high on my list of priorities. Right up there with Have Ink. We’re talking #1 or #2 here. I’m just tossing that out there for your consideration, Allegedly Professional Printer.
