Buy my book! Buy my book!

Item 1!

Atomic Robo and the Revenge of the Vampire Dimension #3 will be available for purchase tomorrow.

It’s the fight of the century – Atomic Robo versus Dr. Dinosaur! Time travel! Crystals! Bazookas! And the dinosaurs who use them! Yes, this comic will change your life forever. The explosive conclusion to the story that began on Free Comic Book Day 2009 is here at last!

Check out the first five pages at ComiXology.

Item 2!

The 8-bit epilogue is nearly done! Just in time for you to stop caring! But shut up anyway! Could be ready next week? I’ll keep ya posted.

Item 3!

Starting to get art back on a couple of my Marvel projects. I thought for sure they had a whole system set up to keep things like what I put in these scripts from going to print, but nope! Basically, I’m drivin’ it like I stole it. Only with words. The first issue of The Avengers and the Infinity Gauntlet ought to hit in August and my back up stories for Fall of the World War Hulks should appear in June and July.

The latest

Work on the 8-bit EPICLOGUE continues at full steam ahead. I’m gonna wait until the whole thing is done to post it though. It was written as a single piece, it should be read as one too.

Meanwhile, Matt and I stumbled into a really cool side project for you guys and that’s why we haven’t seen any new HIKYM pages lately. It’ll be worth the wait though, I promise.

Zack’s a big star now and too important to work on Warbot in Accounting even though he could easily draw one page a day first thing in the morning and stick to a mostly-weekly schedule without impacting his other responsibilities. So, who knows when we’ll see more of that.

Change I can believe in

Now that there’s legislation capping healthcare costs in this country, we can work on something actually important.

Like capping the costs for anything in airports.

Nine dollars for a sandwich? No sides, no drink. Nine dollars. C’mon!

Free Comic Book Day, May 1st!

I’ll be down in Austin, TX this weekend for Free Comic Book Day. Drop by Dragon’s Lair Comics, say howdy, get some free stuff, buy some other stuff, and just have a good time.

We’ll have the first three volumes of Atomic Robo on hand, so if you’ve had trouble tracking them down or if you’re easily swayed by a sales pitch that name checks The Ghostbusters and Buckaroo Banzai, then you best show up.

My Other Marvel Project

I’ve seen the info floating around in solicits, so I’m going to assume it’s safe for me to talk about it.

In addition to The Avengers and the Infinity Gauntlet mini-series due out in August, I’m writing back-up stories for World War Hulks: Wolverine vs. Captain America #1 and #2, which ought to come out in June and July, respectively.

Interesting note: I’m the first webcomic-er to do a full mini-series for the Big Two, and now the first to get a gig that takes place in mainstream continuity. I prefer to be out of continuity, because then you get to do crazy things like have Spider-Man and Dr. Doom team up to fight space pirates, but sometimes you gotta make Ocean’s 12 to make Good Night and Good Luck.

Looking at that paragraph, the last ten years have been a very strange and exciting ride. Especially since I never intended to do work for Marvel. Or to make comics. Like, at all. Funny how things turn out. Thank you.

P.S. none of this interrupts progress on the 8-bit epilogue. In fact, to give you an idea of how much it won’t be interrupted, I finished the Hulk stuff before typing up this blog post. Still not sure when it’ll go live. Might wait for the whole thing to be finished so it can be posted in one mega update. Guess we’ll see!
