So, Firefall looks pretty cool.

News for Nerds

We had a great time at NYCC. Sold out of Robo Saturday, brought in more Sunday, and then sold out again half way through the day. You guys are amazing. Can’t wait to get back to the Windy Apple next year.

Our next show is the North Carolina Comicon.

Hope to see you there!

In the meantime, scope that new nerdyshow.com site, yo. The whole site is bursting with content. They’ve got reviews, comics, videos, podcasts, Dungeons and Doritos, there’s a store or something. I don’t know what’s going on. MAKE THEM STOP!

NYCC 2010! Come and see us!

Scott and I will be at the New York City Comicon Oct 8 – 11th!

For reals! Look, there’s even a banner.

We’ll be in ARTISTS’ ALLEY at TABLE E2. Come and see us! We’ve got Atomic Robo Vol 1 – 4 trades and T-shirts for sale and I think buttons for giving away. You can buy original art and sketches from Mr. Wegener and watch me be useless!

We’ll be signing at the Midtown Comics table Saturday from 5 to 6pm!

See you there, folks!

Or else.

Front Mission Evolved

Front Mission without the detailed mech — I mean WANZER — customization or the turn based stategery is just Armored Core. But dumbed down.

And, I mean, okay, they were not going to release a game that’s one-half spreadsheets, one-half CSPAN crossed with alphabet soup, and one-half mechs WANZERS plodding their way through turn-based tactical grids.

So, it was going to be this or it was going to be nothing. And the game has a few charming ideas, but eh. This is a Big Robots game from From Software. These guys know their game isn’t going to appeal to the mainstream. I can’t help but think they shouldn’t have just accepted that, embraced it, and gone for a real Front Mission experience.

Okay, here we are

Called out to Dallas unexpectedly for the last week hot on the heels of my parents visiting the previous week. Blah blah blah, point is I’m coming home tomorrow and we can finally get back on track with HIKYM. I think we’re going to switch up the schedule to Tuesdays and Fridays so there’s a more even pacing than getting a page on a Friday then almost immediately that Monday only to wait all week for the following Friday. I dunno, my theory is that waiting for Tuesdays will be a better weekly experience.
